Costa Rica COVID Testing Reporting
This project was a branch of a separate laboratory test reporting project. The laboratory software was being used beyond its original design to submit COVID test results to the government for a large number of samples. We were contacted by the government when it was discovered that our software was reporting this significant portion of the total COVID tests. With the government’s current reporting platform not functioning as intended, we were tasked with creating a custom system to handle the majority of the COVID testing reporting for the entire country. This software was used by all of the major public and private hospitals as well as a majority of the independent laboratories.
Project details
With the onset of COVID; hospitals, laboratories, and government health agencies were attempting to gather an accurate picture of the COVID pandemic, its spread, and impact on the public. The existing system built for COVID test reporting to the government databases and WHO was not performing as expected and needed to be addressed quickly to ensure data integrity and drive future public health initiatives. Costa Rica needed a new, reliable, and secure system for sharing and tracing COVID test reporting.
